The Theatre District

Dar Al Funoon — Frank Gehry's House of the Arts

Anchoring Marsa Al Saadiyat's theatre district, Dar Al Funoon is designed by Gehry Partners as Abu Dhabi's home for opera, ballet, musicals and international productions. The complex will seat more than 6,000 guests across a 2,000-seat main hall, a 3,500-seat open-air amphitheatre, a 400-seat studio theatre and a 250-seat jazz venue — slated to open in 2030.

Its sculptural, dune-like form rises on the waterfront esplanade, giving the destination a cultural landmark to stand beside the Saadiyat Cultural District's museums minutes away.
